This is a digital story about my experience on Semester at Sea, a study abroad program I was part of in the summer of 2004. The itinerary that summer included stops in Alaska, Russia, Korea, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Japan. I wanted to do a story about this trip because it was such an amazing experience and I enjoy sharing it with people.
I received messages from many of you asking for help with the Martian Genetics! worksheet, so I made a podcast to hopefully clear some things up for you. You might want to follow along using the worksheet handed out in class, or you can find it on the class Wiki. Have you ever wanted more information about endangered animals around the world? In your state? Do you want to know why or how people can help the animals? This is a great place to go for all that information and more, even if you just want pictures of the animals you like 🙂 The website also has links to additional information about wildlife and what people are doing to help.
We all know how devastating the Bastrop wildfires were to all the people who live there, but what effect has it had on the environment and the ecosystems there? The Statesman published an article discussing the effects on the Lost Pines ecosystem, an endangered species, and the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer system.
